Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was born and raised from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam was a backing singer at Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her a job as the curator at the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family moved into the landmark. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts student and a top student in vocal music. Sullivan began singing as a contralto with the children's choirand just a couple of years later, in the adult group. He was exposed to secular music but was initially minimal "I performed solos at the church, and I was asked to go on a gospel label before I was 11 years old, but I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I had the opportunity to sing "Accept what God allows" at The show Showtime At the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part during his 13th birthday celebration. Sullivan was initially signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. Sullivan was initially signed by Jive Records when she was 15. She recorded an entire album but this album was never released. Sullivan was eventually dropped by the labels. The singer maintained a relationship with Missy Elliott and produced some of the songs from her debut, which included the hit single "Backstabbers" which was produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
